AWARDS GOLDEN EGG
Bronze - Branding, 2022

Puänt bookstore was opened in 2016 by Elisa-Johanna Liiv and Triinu Kööba. Two friends who had a dream they decided to realize. Puänt’s selection includes high-quality reading in Estonian and English in the fields of fiction, thought literature, academics, poetry and art. In its fifth year of operation the owners took on a new challenge – to open their own small publishing house.

The owners of Puänt turned to us to create a visual identity for the publishing house and also to update the look of the store. The illustrative and unique logo created in the early days had served the store well, but it was time to take a step forward and create a fresh and clear identity that resonates with the community.

The desire was to preserve the uniqueness of Puänt, including the recognizable yellow color. A new palette was added to complement the main color and add variety. In addition, a well-readable and warm font for Puänd’s typical text-based social media posts was chosen. Illustrations were created for the marketing materials, which, according to the store’s owners, catch people’s attention and successfully attract new book lovers.

The distinctively quirky new logo for Puänt is inspired by books leaning against a shelf wall and stands out well from classical logos.

In its first year Puänt Publishing House has published three books and our cooperation continues – we designed the cover for the first and the layout for the third book published.
