Portail.ee is a unique online portal in Estonia which started in 2016 and gathers together stories about what is happening in design, fashion, behind the scenes and in the lives of talented people in the industry. In addition it features lifestyle topics such as travelling, food and culture.

Portail’s creator Aljona Eesmaa turned to us to redesign the website to better mirror the trendsetter status it has gained over the years.

For the design we took inspiration from the world’s leading fashion sites and Portail’s motto: “Online portal with an offline attitude.” We created a well thought-out magazine inspired design that is coded to give the content creators more control over the visuals. The colours of the site and the placement of ads is easily changeable by the creators themselves.

The new design brings more attention to the Portail brand and puts the visual materials in the foreground – unlike the old web, the image boxes scale according to the content and create an organic overall impression.

Scaleable sizing is at the heart of the new design, thus stylishly bringing content to the forefront to really let the fashion and lifestyle shine.

Portail exists in a space between digital and analog spaces.
