Golden Egg - Bronze, Corporate Identity, 2018

The newly opened Estonian Motorsport Museum, located in Ellamaa Power Station, is a unique combination of an historic building and rare racing equipment of the Soviet era.

The museum showcases racing equipment used by the Estonian athletes to achieve great results both in the Soviet Union and elsewhere. There are 135 cars and motorcycles, including the first racing bike built in Estonia and newer F1 and rally cars.

The museum mainly uses photos of exhibits in visual communication. To add movement to the communication materials, graphic elements resembling white smoke strips commonly seen in wind tunnels are used as the background, paired with robust typography inspired by racing numbers. The colour palette was chosen to harmonize both with the motorsport colours as well as the exterior of the museum building. Although the museum exhibits are mainly from the Soviet era, it was important for us to avoid a soviet feeling in the design language.

The result is a modern identity that compliments the historic exhibits. The visuals were given a bronze award at the 2017 Kuldmuna design competition.

We added movement to the communication by using graphic elements resembling white smoke strips seen in wind tunnels.

The colour palette was chosen to harmonize both with the motorsport colours as well as the exterior of the museum building.
